Sunsets pose a challenge to a photographer, they often appear beautiful with the naked eye yet somehow manage to dodge the camera's film/sensor altogether. If you don't have a separate light meter, try taking several readings of different spots within your viewfinder and then choose a middle range setting with manual override.

 

Basically, trial and error... but RELAX!
